while the Yellow bags have been available on eBay overseas and through some Toy retailers for a few months, we've yet to see them in USA stores. I'm hoping to see this change in the next few months. Select retailers had a FEW in over Christmas, and that's likely to be just the tip of a coming influx. So, to get ready to find them all in stores, I've set up a handy ID graphic to help you spot the ponies you want in stores! It's also worth noting that the Princess blind bag figures (the Alicorn pose) is much larger than the others, and they HAVE packaged them with an extra plastic wedge to keep those extra long wings from bending. If all you want is to take home a princess, look for that extra bit of weight and that crunchy crackle inside the bag to know you've picked a winner. :)

So I've been kindof neglecting this blog in favor of Facebook posts ( http://www.facebook.com/mylittleponymadness ) but I know some of you are still checking the blog for updates. I am NOW selling Wave 3 German Blind Bags, including the 4 Ultra rare COLTS! Check the bottom of this page http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/new-blind-bag-ponies-imported.html for pictures! The first 12 are being listed, and I hope to have pictures of the rest soon. I should be getting 2 more cases in by Monday (I have to say I love it when the Euro is weak! It makes buying internationally that much more satisfying.)
BIG Exciting things are on the horizon for Blind Bags! The NEXT UK/German release has been leaked. It probably won't be in stores for another eight or nine months, BUT WE HAVE PICTURES! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/03/tons-of-new-blindbags-actual-lyra.html The next wave includes minis of Princess Celestia, Cadance, and Luna! I'm supre excited. It's also harder to tell (the images maybe off color) but it looks like the Twilight Sparkle in this release is more pastel than her usual pain. PLUS this release inclues a GLOW IN THE DARK Fluttershy! The ost doesn't have images of all 24 so I'm hoping their might be a GID Rainbow Dash or Applejack in the works soon. Also, for my friends in Europe if Hasbro sticks to their release timeline, we have only a month or two of waiting left for the GLITTER PONIES! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/11/blindbags-set-3-namessummariesimages.html (I estimate a 6/2012 release month. This is NOT confirmed by anyone in Hasbro, these are my calculations based on the past 3 releases ONLY.) But WAIT! There's MORE! My fellow compatriots in the USA are not neglected! Assuming all goes according to plan, and Hasbro doesn't decide to torment us by making us wait MORE than 6 months between releases (They can be mean, mean people to rabid collectors.) Then we will be seeing Wave 2 Blind Bags start to hit USA retailers! (Shown here, midpage http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/new-blind-bag-ponies-imported.html ) I really hope Hasbro sticks to their schedule, because I am already desperate for more. I missed out on the Wave 2 release in Europe, and I was only able to get one set before they went out of stock online. Which subsequently meant I sold several before realizing I'd not have any for me to KEEP! (Yes, my collection is my primary focus in acquiring ponies. I buy for myself, then buy extra to sell.) For those of you who are NOT Blind Bag addicts, I'm going to keep selling the G3 Ponyville inventory and the adult G3 ponies that I have, but I'm not looking at buying up more inventory right away. I am still open to trades so check My Wish List if you're interested. Primarily I'm channeling my business toward the new ponies because it requires less work from me washing and styling hair. Keep checking back for what's new! And as always take a look at my listings on ebay for what's new! I just got a beautiful gift from my mailman... NEW INVENTORY!
I just caught up washing and inspecting my first 50 ponies. Now I get to start on these! Some will never make it to the auction block, cuz their mine, but I'm super excited to have a lot of new faces to add to my trade/auction stock. Plus I GOT WIND DRIFTER! She's SO pretty! I can't wait to get her cleaned and polished for display. A list of all the ponies will go up on the Inventory soon, with the label 'NYA' (Not Yet Assessed) until I get them washed up and inspected. Hooray for ponies! Styling Pony hair has become a sort of zen meditation for me. It's best done if you do it slowly, and I know the routine so well that it allows me time to think of all sorts of things. Today I was stying Sweet Song's hair and looking at her only, nearly invisible blemish, and the thought crossed my mind that if I styled her hair a different way, it wouldn't even be visible.
But this is a pony I plan to sell, and some part of deliberately concealing a flaw seemed dishonest. I mean, sure, you could say I'm 'demonstrating how easy it is to display without the flaw showing'. But in a world that relies so heavily on photo representation, that isn't how someone would feel if they got a pony that LOOKED perfect, only to discover a neatly hidden blemish. I've worked in sales. I know how easy it is to turn words around to make something utterly unnecessary sound appealing, or to hint and imply to get a desired result. I was told I could be very good at sales. The problem is, I know when I'm manipulating someone, and I don't like it. I don't like tricking someone into believing me. Now sales techniques are everywhere, and you can say you've had sales experience if you've ever worked a cash register. "Would you like fries with that?" may have become a hackneyed cliche regarding the fast food industry, but it's a phrase, in it's simple suggestive power that has generated billions in revenue over time. Maybe I'm too honest. I'm comfortable with mentioning the flaws in myself because I'd rather be accepted for who I am, flaws and all. I guess when you get down to it, I'm the same way about my product. Yes, my ponies are sold used. But I'll be up front and honest about any flaws they might have, not because I don't want them to sell, but because I want you to know exactly what you're getting, so you can enjoy that pony. Flaws and all. |
